The sock yarn is great. I love Socks that rock, but it isn't easy to get here. And than a skein from the Sock Club is much greater. And the little one is sooooo cute. The brownies have been yummy. Thank you again.

Here are the socks of the last week. At the moment I'm really fast in knitting the socks. The patterns are from Knitting with handpainted yarn. In the book are many nice patterns.

This is the Potpourri pattern. The wool is from Drachenwolle. The yellow looks better in real, the weather wasn't good to make photos.

And this is the Schooner pattern, I don't make the knots on it, as I don't like them. The wool is from Tausendschön and was the unicum from January, called "Drei Könige"

Here are the first socks of the year. As it is going better with my hand, knitting is fast as before. Three of the pairs are ready at the last week, as I watched Biathlon at TV.

This are for my brother, they are knitted with Opal 6ply called Tiger.

This are for me, in size 40, knitted with Tausendschön yarn. The pattern is the Faceted Rib pattern from The little box of socks

I'm back from three wonderful days in Berlin. It was cold and my feeds are burning :-) We had wonderful weather, so we do some nice things. I will post some pictures the next days. My hand is better now.

I cannot knit at the moment, because on Sunday I would make the dessert and make a big cut in my left hand. I went to the hospital and they made three stitches :-( What a pain when the doctor set the anesthesia. So now all things getting a little bit slower, as I can only use my right hand.

Today was a great Swap day, as I got two packages full of wonderful stuff. The first one was from the Amazing Lace Swap from Ravelry. I got a great package from Singapore, with all this nice stuff you seen on the picture. The wool has all the colours I like on it.

And the second one was also from Ravelry, from the Coffee and Chocolate swap. Both things that I love that much. Here is the photo with the great stuff. The wool looks great and the chocolate sounds yummy. Also all the other stuff is great. The mug looks so nice and the angel is sooo cute.

Still alive

Cannot believe that time is flying that fast and I haven't post for such a long time. We have now late at night and I should sleep, but we just returned from a wonderful concert and I cannot sleep now. We have seen the great German group Ich + Ich and Frankfurt. It was a very great concert and I want to see it again. Maybe we will make a trip to Berlin and the end of December and see them again.
What happened at the last weeks? The greatest mirage was that our cat returned. It was two weeks ago, when she stand behind my husband at one morning. He thought he don't see right, but she was it. So she returned after 10 weeks of been away. We hadn't believed that she will return. We more thought that she was dead, with her illness and all what going one. For the first days, she only slept and ate much. She lost some weight, but now she is at a good way and make it better from day to day. You all can believe that I was the happiest person in the world at this day.
At the end of September we celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. We went to Stuttgart at this day and visited the Wilhelma zoo. Was a nice day, with good weather. The other days at this week had much of rain. My husband had one week off from work I must say, and so the bad weather wasn't that nice.
I'm still knitting around. I will post some pictures of my socks later. Here are the newest photo of our cat Tiffy. She was very dirty when she came home.

I’m sure most of us have a proudest moment when it comes to knitting. A project or technique that you’ve tackled and completed beautifully. What is your proudest knitting moment??

I was very proud about me when I finished my Josephine top. It was a hard work for me, even the shirt was easy to knit. I don't knit such large things like shirts much often. I'm more the sock knitter or a shawl or scarf knitter.

And on the flip side? What is the one thing that you can’t get right? What is that one project that you’ve never been able to complete? Or that you did complete but then hid away instantly because it was too embarrassing?

There is a pullover for my husband, who never get ready. I believe you wouldn't like it anymore. So I never will find a end of it.

Mmmmh, this is a good question. Mostly the yarn I receive in my mail is the best thing. The last thing was STR who I ordered at least. Than the packages of my pals are the best things in mail. Oh I believe there is so much things who are the best things.

Still missing

Since 5 weeks we are now missing our cat Tiffy. I believe that we wouldn't found her. As I wrote before, she was ill. So I believe more that she died. We bring on flyers with her photo and all important things on trees and so on. We got two phone calls, but that wasn't our Tiffy. It was a other black-white cat. This is the last photo of her.

Mostly I only took socks with me. At this vacation I only knit one pair. When we went away in winter, I knit more. In the summer it is too hot for knitting. I prefer most to read a good book at vacation.

1) My favorite place is Italy. I love this country. I have stayed there for soooo many times. And as you read before, we had a wonderful vacation there this summer.

2) I would like to go to the scandinavian countries. A friend of mine made a trip with a boat at the norwegian coast this year and found it great.

Back from vacation

We are back from our wonderful vacation in Italy. We stayed there for two weeks, in San Lorenzo al Mare. It is a small town in the near of Imperia or San Remo, close to the French border. We had wonderful weather and much fun. We visited Monaco, Ezé, a zoo in the near of Nice and some other nice places. And we stayed many times at the sea. Here are some pictures from our trip.

When I came home, I found a envie from my Secret Pal. In them was a wonderful little bag, a alpaca yarn, some needles and a beautiful pattern. I will make a picture tomorrow and show it. It was a wonderful package. Thank you much. The pattern looks very nice and the yarn is so soft.

As a kid, what did you look forward to most about summer vacation/break/holiday?

As we always went to a campingplace in Italy, I looked forward to met my friends there. We stayed
there every year for six weeks and so I had some close friends there. They are from all nations.
Sure, they changed also from summer to summer, but some of them also came every year, like me.
For me the six weeks in Italy had been always great. This is also the reason why I love to Italy
also today.

Weekend

We had a nice weekend. At Friday we went to a concert from Herbert Grönemeyer in Mönchengladbach. It was a very great concert and I enjoyed much. We sleeped in a Hotel not too far away from Mönchengladbach. At Saturday we went first to the Netherlands to buy some coffee and than to Duisburg. There we went to the zoo. It is a nice zoo and we had much fun.
I would like to show some pics of this two days, but our camera wouldn't go on since yesterday. As it is a new one, I will send her back today. We has have the camera since one week. Yesterday evening she went out and never on again. The accu is full, but nothing. So I can show pics when I get the new one at the next days. My cardreader cannot read the new card I have bought for the camera.

Yesterday evening we looked the EM game Germany-Poland. Great that our boys won the game. I only watch football at EM or WM.

Now I'm waiting for the phone call of the vet clinic. I hope that she has good news, but I don't believe it.

Needing crossed fingers

Today I was with our oldest cat Tiffy at the vet clinic. Our normally vet couldn't do anything more, he hadn't the special diagnostic stuff at his practice. So I went to the clinic at the morning, needing an hour to come there. Normally you need a half hour, but with the rush-hour traffic you need more.
The vet made a x-ray of the lung and than a endoscopy. They found something at the tongue and at the larynx. The took a sample of the tissue and we will get the result next Monday. She said it looks like it is malignant, because it is so much. You cannot believe how I feel. When I drive home, I had cried. At the moment she is sleeping, as a reason of the narcotic. Beside the harder breathing, she is looking good. She is eating good and don't look ill.
I try my best to see positiv, but at the moment the negativ thoughs are more.

..... sleeping seems that only right thing. I made this photo of my nephew today right before I went to the staples. Oskar also like this position much and slept there also. When my husband came home, a little bit more than a hour later, both had been in the same position as I went away.

This week, my husband had off from work. At Monday we celebrated my 38. birthday. Cannot believe that time is flying that fast and I'm a year older again. We don't to something special on this day. Only went out for dinner in Frankfurt. The other days we spent at home mostly. Only went to some shopping. Thursday was a holiday here. And yesterday we went to the zoo in Cologne. It was very nice weather and the zoo wasn't that full. I love to go to the zoo much. Here are some photos from there.

Cannot believe that we will have Easter at this weekend. The time is flying that fast. Sure, Easter is early this year. The weather should be more like Christmas. They say it should snowing. We will see. We will spend the Easter Sunday and Monday with my brother. My mother doesn't said anything if she will coming here. And I don't ask her. Its a longer story.
It seems that I got teeth pain again. Grrrh, I don't want to loose this teeth, but this will be the thing the dentist will make. Did they told me the last time. So I ignore the pain.

As the old blog is closed now, I have forgot to save the post I had wrote there. This is sad, but I cannot change it.

Today I got this wonderful package from my (not longer) secret pal.

My secret pal was Kele and she sends me a very big package. She done a wonderful job.

All this wonderful things had been in the package. One skein of sock yarn with the american colours, one wonderful Cherry Tree Hill skein in pink. It feels great. I haven't this yarn before. Now I must look what pattern I will use for it.
One very nice cat figure. And some crochet cat ball (with catnip) for my cats. A box with selfmade cookies, they are yummy. I had to ask for the recipe :-)

Some nice postcards from the area my pals is from. Some chocolate. A candle who smells great. A Vogue knitting magazine. And finally some nice crochet slippers. They made a good job at the evening when I'm sitting at the couch.

Now I will go to bring Fiona into the staples. We have funny weather today. First it was snowing a little bit, than it was raining and now the sun is shining.

Stormy weather

Germany is hidden by a big storm today. It is so uncomfortably outside. Its stormy and it is raining much. I don't brought Fiona to the willow today, was she doesn't like much. She don't like to stay the whole day into the staples, but it is better with this kind of weather. So she got some extra food from me and it seems that this make her a little bit happier.
I hope that all things at our house will be safe. We have no money to pay a new roof. Maybe the storm getting that worst as they say. I hate this kind of weather. It should be better by tomorrow.
My cats don't want to go outside at the moment, I can understand them so well.

Back again

We are back since Saturday, but it was too much to do the last days. Now I'm back from Fiona and I use the time before my nephew comes. It's still a much to do. Why is this so after a vacation?
The week was nice, but as you can believe, we had no snow. It was too warm. The temperatures had been around 10°C, not really winter temperatures. So we made other things, than to made sledge rides or cross country skiing. We visited the castle Linderhof, went to Kempten, to Lindau (not that we had been there in summer enough), went to a swimming hall and so on. Some days it has rained. I will post some pictures of the vacation soon.

Away for vacation

We will leave for vacation tomorrow morning. We going there <klick> We want to make a winter vacation there, but it seems that this will be more a spring vacation. Here is a picture of a webcam from today. As you see is there not much snow. And the weather prognose isn't better, there should be warmer temperatures and rain. So we must find other things to do as we normally want to do.

I have all my things ready now, only some knitting stuff is left. My nephew and I go by train there. As our car is too small for us all. My mother also come with us.

So we will see again at the next weekend.

Here is my last sock of the last year and the first one of the new one. I made the Monkey pattern from knitty.com. It was easy to knit and went on very fast. The yarn is from Opal. The socks are for me.

And than finished I another pair of socks at the last year, it is also yarn from Opal And the socks are also for me.

So I had made 58 1/2 socks at the last year. Whow, this is very much.

Now we nearly have 2 o'clock in the morning and it is time to go to bed. I hope that you all had and have a good starting of the new Year. We had a good one. We celebrated it with my brother Knut and his family and my mother. We ate Raclette and had a nice evening. Than we went out to shot some rockets in the air. It just started raining right before we went into the house. My cats are a little bit nervous, but now all seems be better.

Our Christmas was very nice. At Christmas Eve my mother and my brother with his family came here. First we ate something and sit together and talked a little bit. Than the gifts we changed the gifts. I got some wonderful ones.

At the 25th we went to my brother for lunch. After that we went to Fiona. There I rid for the first time since many years. It was very funny and nice. And it was cold at this day, so the coffee was very good when we came home.

And at the 26th my family came here again. I made a simply meal, only pasta with vegetables, but it was yummy. Than we made a little walk with my mother and my nephew. My mother told me at this day, that she maybe (for me it sounds more like she want for sure) will move to my other brother Thomas. He lives about 100 km from here. I'm sure, that isn't that far, but we all have no contact to Thomas. We doesn't talk to each other and so on. It is a longer story why this is so. And now my mother will move there, I cannot understand this. Sure, she has contact to him and his wife, but why she must go there? We also looking often after her. And she isn't that old that she cannot live alone longer, she will be 71 in March. And for say, Knut lives at the same apartment house than she do. I hope that she won't go there, but I believe she will do it. The last night I slept very bad, I always think about the whole thing. I believe she is old enough to do what she want. Sorry for the long story here.

Than I'm a UHU since yesterday. You will ask now, what the hell is a UHU? For me that means, that I'm weight under hundred kilo. So I lost about 18 kilos over the last 8 months. The weekend we have spent to made all things ready for the holidays. So we made our Advent wreath, put the lights one and decorate the rooms. At Friday we went to a Christmas market in Alzenau, its a smaller town in our near. The Christmas market was very nice and not too much people there at this evening. You shouldn't go there at Sunday, it is too much.

At Saturday we made our Advent wreath and also the one for my mother. Than we went to the garden and put some lights on the trees and some lighting figures at the ground.
And yesterday we made the lights into the windows and decorate the rooms. Was a lot of work, but I love this time of the year.
Only the weather could be more like winter, it is really warm here and we have only rain today. Later I must go and bring my brothers horse into the staples. If it is stop raining at this time, I will make some photos of her.

Lorna's Lace Socks

This are the socks from the Lorna's Lace yarn my Hot Sock partner Nan sent to me. It was very great to knit and I love the colour. I have still some rest of the yarn and I will see what I have to knit of it.

And like this our couch looked at Sunday evening. Not that the cats have more than enough places that they call her own, they must lay at our couch. So we had no place.

And a again a sleeping photo from one of our cats. This is Principessa. She get this name, because she is our little princess. We grown her up with the hand. We got her when she was only a few days old. My brother found her and two siblings, in the stables where their horse stand at this time. The mother was hidden by a car. So we tried our best to get all three grown, but unluckily we must put two of them to sleep. They had an bad illness at the brain and so it was the best for them. Principessa is now three years old.

And again I get some socks this week ready. One is a order from a friend of mine, still have two pairs to work on. And the other on is for my sister-in-law. She need thick socks for her riding shoes. They have a wonderful horse, called Fiona. I sometimes bring her to the willow. I will do some photos soon.

today is this game.

I had looked a longer time for it, and ever said, no no no. Today was the day my hubby said, yes, we will buy one. So we went to the store this afternoon and get one. The game I get with it was this.

So I played now for the whole evening. No time for knitting. ;-) And that who I want to knit on the wonderful Lornas Lace yarn. I promise I will do this tomorrow. My mother will come here for lunch tomorrow and I will make Lasagne, as she wish this.

went on since my last post. There was so much happen here at the last week, not funny. Inherit isn't a nice thing. There are so many things to do. Is had been much better if my f-i-l had made a testament, but no, my s-i-l said this wouldn't be good, as he had nothing to do with all the stuff. The house was my m-i-l and when she died, all ground and houses went to the childs, means my husband and my s-i-l. Hope this wasn't not too confused. But my f-i-l also get a part of the house and grounds, and no it get complication. I hope that this all will be over soon, as I won't have any fight in the family. This is my fear.
The funeral was, if we can say this, very nice. The pastor hold a very nice homily. After the funeral we went to the community centre and ate cake and drunk caffee.
Last week, Frank had three days off from work. So we had been away for nearly every day. At Wednesday we made our garden ready for winter. There was a lot of work, but now the winter can come. It is colder here now.
Than we used the time to bought a new desktop for our computer. He will come at the end of the year. What isn't that far away. :-)
And I bought the train tickets for our winter vacation in January. We will go to the Allgäu at January, 6. This is also Franks birthday, don't know what I give him.
So now I believe all is up to date.

Today the postman brought me the Hot Sock Swap from Nan. Thank you sooooooo much for all the wonderful things you sent to me. Here is what she send me.
Wonderful Lornas Lace yarn. It is my first yarn of this brand and I must say, it is greatful. Now I can understand all who like this yarn much. The colour is great.
Some chocolat bars, all sound yummy. A cherry lipglos. And great tasting tea.
And at least a knit.1 magazine, who I ask her if she could sent it to me. Again Nan, thank you much for all the great things, you made my day.

So here are the socks I promised at the weekend. The first one is for my husband and made of Opal yarn in size 44.

The next one is for me in size 40 and also made of Opal yarn. The pattern is from a book my Wollfee gave me as present.

And the last one is also for me in size 40 and made with Fortissima Colori Socka Disco Color. Unluckily you cannot see the glittering good at the photo.

Time is flying that fast at the moment. Cannot believe that more than one week is gone since my father-in-law past away. There is so much things to plan on. Yesterday we looked for the urn and tomorrow we will looking for the flowers for the ceremony. I will be happy when the funeral is over next week. I don't like to go to funerals.

It is getting cool here for the temperatures. Its really autumn. I like the autumn much, with all the different colors on it.

The funeral of my f-i-l will be in a fortnight. Such a long time to go. I would be much happier if she would be earlier, but our reverend will be in vacation next week. The kids here have two weeks off from school from today. And when the referend will be back, there are first some other funerals. There is so much to do before this. Isn't the work that you do with fun.

Our weekend

As we had a holiday yesterday here in Germany we had a long weekend. Frank had a day off from work on Monday.
Saturday we went first do Bonn and go to the outlet store from H*ribo. You can get the gums there cheaper and the selection is very big. After that we went to Maastricht in the Netherlands. Its a beautiful city. We spent a few hours there and had a lot of fun, as the weather also was very nice at this day.
Sunday we had to buy a new coffeepad machine, as our old one was broken some weeks ago. At Sunday the shops in our region where open and we saw a very good offer at the newspaper for a Sen*eo coffeepad machine. So we went to the shop and bought her. After that we went to my father-in-law, who is lying in the hospital since three weeks now. He has lunge cancer. And the doctors told him, when he get the diagnostic at the middle of August, that he had only a short time to live. And what should I say, this was a mistake. The cancer isn't that bad how they told him, and there is still a way to help him.
At Monday we went to the swedish furniturehouse (I*EA) and had a wonderful breakfast, after we found a place in the restaurant. It is always hard to find a place there at the morning, specially if many people have a day off from work. And also the kids have off from school. Like every visit at the store I bought some new stuff.
And yesterday we had a lazy day at the couch. I finished one sock as I heard a audiobook and Frank watched some DVD. It had rained the whole day yesterday.
I had looked for a good picture from Maastricht, but what should I say, we haven't one.

My TV died

A few minutes before, I want to make a little knitting rest on the couch and watching TV. So I made the TV on, but nothing. All other stuff went on, but not the TV. Grrrh, who one had killed my TV? I hope that this is something you can be fixed, but at the other side, it is a older TV, so a new one would be nice too. :-) I will wait until my husband come home and we will see what to do. Luckily we have also a TV at the kitchen and so I can watch there, but it is not so much comfort like at the couch.
